Terms of Service

Effective September 8, 2026

Last updated September 8, 2026

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The Right Path (the “Service”), which is operated by johncompton as a sole proprietor. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

The Service is not directed to children under 16. The Service does not currently enforce automated age verification; by using it you represent that you meet this minimum age requirement and are otherwise eligible to enter into these Terms under the laws that apply to you. Birth date information you may optionally provide for the astrology layer is not used to verify your eligibility. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided information without consent, contact us at therightpathtest@protonmail.com.

3. Accounts

You may register using an email address and password or a supported third-party sign-in (currently Google). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use. When you create an account you accept these Terms as described in our registration flow; this acceptance is recorded with your user identifier, the current Terms version, and a timestamp.

4. Description of the Service

The Right Path is a career-exploration and analysis platform. Based on your answers to an adaptive assessment it may provide: career matches and compatibility scores; an entrepreneurship compatibility analysis; a work-style analysis; optional reflective contextual layers; AI-generated narrative explanations; a free Career DNA report; and a paid full Career Blueprint deep dive. A more detailed description of what the free and paid experiences include appears on the Service.

5. Career Matching and AI Analysis

Career match scores, compatibility percentages, and the entrepreneurship score are produced by a deterministic matching engine computed from your answers; they are not generated by AI. Narrative explanations and prose around those scores are generated by an AI language model. This distinction matters: the AI does not independently determine your scores. Automated systems and AI can make mistakes; outputs may contain errors. See our AI & Career Disclaimer for details.

6. No Guarantee of Outcomes

The Service is informational and educational. We do not guarantee employment, job offers, salary, earnings, promotions, career satisfaction, business success, entrepreneurship success, educational outcomes, or financial outcomes. Any career, compensation, transition-time, training, or entrepreneurship figures are estimates and may change.

7. Salary and Labor-Market Information

Salary ranges, compensation figures, job-growth estimates, transition-time estimates, and training requirements that appear in your results may be based on third-party or public data, internal estimates, or modeled approximations. Such information can change, varies by region, employer, industry, and experience, and should be independently verified before you rely on it for an important decision. We do not represent these figures as guaranteed current facts.

8. No Professional Advice

The Service does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice, and is not a substitute for professional advice from a qualified provider. Major career, education, employment, business, and financial decisions remain your responsibility. You should independently verify important information before acting on it.

9. Optional Self-Reported Health / Neurodiversity Information

The Service may invite you to provide self-reported mental-health, neurodevelopmental, or neurodiversity information, plus functional work-style answers. Participation in this section is entirely optional; skipping it does not prevent you from completing the assessment or receiving your Career DNA. This information is self-reported by you. The Right Path does not diagnose any condition and does not verify any diagnosis. This information is used only for career and work-style reflection and personalization; it is not used to calculate your career match scores, and it is not medical or psychological advice. It is collected and stored only with your affirmative consent, as described in the just-in-time consent notice in the assessment and in our Privacy Policy.

10. Optional Astrology Layer

The Service may offer an optional astrology layer using birth date, birth time, and birth location you provide. Astrology is presented as a reflective, contextual, and entertainment-oriented layer only. It does not alter your primary deterministic career-match scores or entrepreneurship score. Only your calculated Sun sign and its traditionally associated theme are used in narrative personalization; your raw birth date, birth time, and birth location are not sent to the AI model. See our Privacy Policy for how astrology information is handled.

11. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not impair the ability of others to use it. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for the consequences of decisions you make based on your results.

12. Payments and Paid Features

The full Career Blueprint is a one-time purchase of $12.99 (USD). There is no recurring subscription at this time. The price is resolved server-side at the time of checkout, so the price shown at purchase always governs; we may change the price in the future, and any change will be disclosed at the point of purchase.

A successful purchase unlocks the full Career Blueprint for the specific assessment session you purchased it for. Access to that session’s Blueprint remains available in your account while the Service operates. Re-running analysis on the same session (for example, by adding optional personal context) keeps that session unlocked and does not require a new purchase. Taking a new assessment creates a new session, and each new session’s full Blueprint requires its own purchase. Payment is processed by our payment processor (Wix Payments, branded as “Base44 Payments”); we do not receive or store your full card details. Any additional paid products we may introduce in the future will be clearly disclosed at the point of purchase, including whether they are recurring.

13. Refunds

Refund eligibility for the one-time digital Career Blueprint is described in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

14. Intellectual Property

The Right Path property. The software, branding, interface, assessment methodology, proprietary database structures, and original site content of the Service are owned by johncompton or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Your information. You retain any rights you hold in the information you submit. We do not claim ownership of your personal information, and nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your personal data to us.

Your generated report. You may download, save, print, and share your own Career DNA and Career Blueprint for personal, non-commercial use. You may not: resell or commercially exploit the Service; copy or reproduce the assessment system or proprietary materials for commercial use; systematically extract or scrape Service content; impersonate The Right Path or suggest endorsement by us; or reproduce proprietary materials as part of a competing product.

15. Permission to Process User Submissions

To the extent you provide information to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, transmit to necessary service providers, and analyze your submissions solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This permission does not authorize unrestricted commercial exploitation of your personal assessment data, and it does not transfer ownership of your information to us.

16. Acceptable and Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • attempt unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or its data;
  • bypass or attempt to bypass payment, paywall, or access controls;
  • scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content where inappropriate or prohibited;
  • abuse, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure;
  • use another user’s account or data without authorization;
  • use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of these Terms.

17. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties, including the Base44 platform (hosting, database, authentication, and payments plumbing), an AI language model provider, our payment processor (Wix Payments / “Base44 Payments”), and, where you choose it, Google sign-in. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties. See our Privacy Policy for how service providers are used.

18. Service Availability

The Service is provided on a continuous basis but is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue features for maintenance, security, product improvement, or other reasons. Where we discontinue a feature, we will act in a commercially reasonable manner and, where relevant to purchased digital products and practicable, account for access you have already paid for under these Terms and our Refund Policy.

19. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of results; uninterrupted or error-free availability; specific career outcomes; or the correctness of AI-generated content. This disclaimer does not exclude any warranties that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits or loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or damages covered by consumer-protection statutes where applicable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. No aggregate monetary liability cap is stated in these Terms; any such cap would require separate owner and legal review.

21. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold us, and where appropriate our officers, employees, and agents, harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your unlawful use of the Service; your violation of these Terms; your infringement of another person’s rights; or your misuse of another user’s account or data. This provision does not limit any rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer law that cannot be waived.

22. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your assessment results and optional personal context from Settings, and you can request closure of your authentication account as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, to address prohibited conduct or violations of these Terms, to respond to fraud or payment abuse, or to comply with legal requirements. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will act in a commercially reasonable manner. For users who have paid for a Career Blueprint, we will not arbitrarily remove access you have already paid for without regard to applicable law, these Terms, and our Refund Policy. Where suspension or termination is necessary, we may retain narrow transactional and account records for legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes.

23. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Subject to any non-waivable rights available to you under applicable consumer law, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service may be brought in the courts located in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies available to you that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver. For legal matters, contact therightpathtest@protonmail.com.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will reflect material changes by updating the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this document. For material changes, we may also provide notice through the Service (such as an in-app notice) or, where we elect to provide it and have a usable address, by email. We do not commit in these Terms to a specific notification method for every change. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the Service.
