End User License Agreement

Effective September 8, 2026

Last updated September 8, 2026

1. Agreement to This License

This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and johncompton (the “Licensor”), who operates The Right Path as a sole proprietor. It governs your installation, access, and use of The Right Path (the “Software” or “Service”), including the web application, its interface, assessment system, and generated reports. By creating an account, accessing the Service, or using any report it produces, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service. This EULA works alongside — and does not replace — our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated by reference.

2. Grant of License

Subject to your ongoing compliance with this EULA, the Licensor grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service through a supported web browser, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. This license is worldwide but is valid only while the Service is made available by the Licensor and only for so long as you comply with these terms. No title or ownership interest in or to the Software is transferred to you under this EULA; you receive only the limited rights of use expressly stated here.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service to take the career assessment, receive your Career DNA and (where purchased) your Career Blueprint, and download, save, print, and share your own generated reports for personal, non-commercial use. You may access your account from your own devices. Any use beyond the personal, non-commercial scope described here requires prior written permission from the Licensor.

4. License Restrictions

You agree not to, and not to allow anyone else to:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, resell, lease, lend, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service, the assessment system, or any report, in whole or in part;
  • modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Service, its methodology, or its content;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, scoring methodology, or underlying algorithms of the Service;
  • systematically scrape, harvest, or extract data, content, or outputs from the Service by automated or manual means;
  • remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices on or within the Service or its reports;
  • use the Service to build, train, or improve a competing product, assessment, or career-matching service;
  • access the Service through any means other than the interfaces the Licensor provides, or bypass any technical limitation, paywall, or access control;
  • share your account credentials in a way that allows another person to access the Service as you, or use another user’s account or data without authorization;
  • use the Service in any manner that violates applicable law or any right of any third party.

5. Ownership of the Software and Content

The Software, its interface, branding, assessment methodology, proprietary data structures, scoring engine, and original site content are owned by johncompton or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you in this EULA are reserved by the Licensor. Your generated Career DNA and Career Blueprint reports are provided to you for personal, non-commercial use under Section 3; the Licensor retains all rights in the underlying methodology, formats, and content that produced them.

6. Your Information and Data

Information you submit to the Service is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You retain any rights you hold in your own information; this EULA does not transfer ownership of your personal data to the Licensor. You grant only the limited processing permission described in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which is necessary to operate the Service and generate your reports.

7. Third-Party and Open-Source Components

The Service is built on and depends on third-party software and services, including the Base44 platform (hosting, database, and authentication), an AI language-model provider, the Wix Payments payment processor (branded as “Base44 Payments”), and, where you choose it, Google sign-in. These third parties operate under their own terms, and the Licensor is not responsible for their practices. This EULA applies only to the Licensor’s Service; it does not grant you any rights in third-party software or services. Where the Service incorporates open-source components, those components remain licensed under their own applicable licenses.

8. No Warranty

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Software is licensed “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. The Licensor does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any defect will be corrected. No advice or information given by the Licensor creates any warranty not expressly stated in this EULA. This section does not exclude any warranties that applicable law does not permit the Licensor to exclude.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to this EULA or your use of or inability to use the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, such as liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or liability covered by consumer-protection statutes where applicable. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

10. Termination of This License

You may stop using the Service at any time, which ends your license. You can delete your assessment results and optional personal context from Settings and request closure of your account as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Licensor may revoke or suspend your license and access at any time if you breach this EULA, including the restrictions in Section 4, or for security, legal, or operational reasons as described in the Terms of Service. Upon termination, the license granted in Section 2 ends, you must stop using the Service, and the provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, restrictions, no warranty, limitation of liability, and governing law — remain in effect.

11. Governing Law

This EULA is governed by the laws of Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Subject to any non-waivable rights available to you under applicable consumer law, disputes arising out of or relating to this EULA may be brought in the courts located in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this EULA limits any rights or remedies available to you that cannot lawfully be waived.

12. Changes to This EULA

The Licensor may update this EULA from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this document, and the Licensor may also provide notice through the Service or, where it elects to provide it and has a usable address, by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated EULA. If you do not agree to a change, you should stop using the Service.
